Doctoral thesis

A first prototype of the Caravela is being used and tested in a really spectacular doctoral thesis in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The title of the innovative thesis is "Implementation of Algal Turf Scrubbers in the biomonitoring of oil contamination in an estuarine ecosystem".

MSc Daniel Tremmel is the doctoral candidate of the amazing project! A beautiful partnership between Infinito Mare and Universidade Federal Fluminese (Fluminense Federal University) through the Radiocarbon Laboratory and the renowed scientist Dra Carla Carvalho.

On December 15 2021, we installed a few "Caravelinha" (an adapted and low-cost structure) in different locations in the city of Niterói, helping to clean the waters of Guanabara Bay while monitoring the quality of the environment.

The scenario is promising! Let's go together!!
